Galax Quartet with contralto Karen Clark

6 December 2016

David Wilson and Elizabeth Blumenstock, violins;
David Morris, cello;
Roy Whelden, viola da gamba;
Karen Clark, contralto

Using period instruments, Galax, a string quartet of violins, cello and viola da gamba, exploits the warm, delicate qualities that emerge from light bows on gut strings performing contemporary music with Baroque finesse. Noted contralto Karen Clark complements tonight’s performance in works featuring poetry by Gary Snyder, Thoreau and others.
